Boiler Service Engineer
Looking to hire a Boiler Service Technician for a commercial plumbing and HVAC equipment manufacturer’s representative, servicing the state of Arizona. We partner with engineers, contractors, wholesalers, building owners and developers to provide plumbing and HVAC system solutions. As a growing company, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Boiler Service and
Start-up Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will have
experience servicing commercial boilers (both steam and condensing hot water),
including ancillary equipment. They will be responsible for equipment startup,
troubleshooting and maintenance. They will act as a liaison between the customer and
the service manager, making sure customer needs are met.
Boiler Tech and Start-up Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build strong customer relationships and confidence in Company and
our core products, while also building knowledge and understanding of new and
existing customer needs and expectations
• Perform technical level support/repairs, general maintenance and start-ups of
various mechanical commercial equipment such as Boilers both for steam and
heating hot water, Water Heaters, Pumps, Booster Systems, Variable Frequency
Drive, etc.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial Hydronic and Plumbing equipment
• Ensure customer satisfaction and confidence by efficiently and effectively
servicing products and equipment on assigned projects

Boiler Tech and Start-up Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to plan for each job, ensuring you have the proper tools and
documentation.
• Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer’s
location
• Provide onsite preventative maintenance, replacement parts, and modifications
as needed or requested by customers
• Proactively prevent future issues onsite by examining building layout, gathering
materials and coordinating as needed. Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency repair requests.
• Ability to use tools of the trade (combustion analyzer, multimeter, power tools
etc)
• Strong computer, internet and communication skills needed
• Keeping appropriate records by completing the necessary paperwork for each job
and working with Service Manager to maintain accurate and updated files
• Maintain project expenses through planned course of action
• Maintain and inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition, inventory needs,
scheduling and completing repairs and routine maintenance service
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems
• Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and
Safety Act

Knowledge/Experience/Critical Skills Required:
• Education/Experience – associate degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade
School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. Minimum
of Five (5) years related experience preferred or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
• Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and short
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and
small group situations.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and

Skills and Qualifications/Abilities:
• Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in service.
• HS Diploma/GED required. Certificate/degree from college or technical school
preferred.
• 5-8 years of related experience in troubleshooting and servicing commercial
boilers and pumps is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment
• Ability to use and maintain a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, wiring
diagrams, piping schematics, engineering specifications and other equipment to
diagnose and repair units
• Familiarity with safety standards, codes, and regulations relevant to HVAC and
boiler systems.
• Maintain a high standard of mechanical installation practices
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret
blueprints, plans and manuals
• Willingness to research and study OEM manuals before going on to a job site
• Ability to meet deadlines and stay up to date on all aspects of core product
maintenance, repair, start-ups and product certifications
• Ability to troubleshoot efficiently and effectively
