At best, luxury cruise vessels contain more than 60 catering spaces with equipment. The catering solution typically includes facilities for food storage, preparation and processing as well as dish storage and washing. Competition in the cruise industry and the changing demands of customers require regular renovations, changes and equipment investments in the catering facilities of existing restaurants and bars, in addition to the newest catering solutions built on cruise vessels. In the role of Sales & Project Manager, you will focus on sales and project management related to refits, modifications and equipment replacements for cruise ship catering facilities, from defining the need to installation and commissioning. You will strengthen our Refit team where we work closely with the company’s Finland operations and other internal stakeholders (e.g. design, production, new sales and warranty department) as well as our equipment suppliers and installation partners for the benefit of our customers. We have established relationships with the cruise lines and regional contractors that focus on refits and service, and we are well known to our customers. Therefore, you will work primarily with existing clients.
Daily tasks will include:
- Receive and analyze RFQs
- Accurately define customer requirements either via email, tele/video conferencing or shipboard visit
- Present the customer’s needs and specifications to the engineering department for more detailed planning of the catering solution
- Prepare quotations and issue RFQs to vendors for buyout equipment and services
- Ordering the materials, equipment and installation personnel required for the project from both SeaKing’s manufacturing facilitie and partners
- For the largest projects, prepare project plans and schedules, and control and monitor the progress of the project
- Coordinate travel arrangements for installation personnel
- Supervise and monitor of installation and commissioning (onboard for some projects)
- Actively maintain and develop customer relationships
- Communicate information to internal and external stakeholders during projects
- Contribute to the development of the refit business
What kind of expert are we looking for? We expect you to have experience in international sales and project management skills as a technical or commercial eduction suitable for this position. We appreciate any previous experience in the shipbuilding / marine industry or retrofit projects in other industries. You must have good sales and negotiation skills and the ability to understand the characteristics of international sales. In addition to sales and customer tasks, you have the ability to take responsibility for the projection and completion of the sold solution, stakeholder cooperation and purchasing. We hope you have the ability to read technical documentation. The position requires flexible working hours and the ability to travel 50+ days a year. Working in an international operating environment requires good English language skills, knowledge of other languages is considered an advantage.
