Fleet Supervisor – Tampa, FL
We’re looking for a tugboat professional able to get involved in most aspects of fleet operations, from light engineering supervision, to crewing, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities for the Fleet Supervisor:
  • Oversee the daily operations of an offshore tugboat fleet.
  • Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to ensure tugboats meet all regulatory standards set by agencies such as the USCG, ABS, Bureau Veritas, AWO, and OCIMF SIRE.
  • Support vessel crews in preparing for Class audits, surveys, and other regulatory inspections for hull and machinery. Participate in these inspections as required.
  • Manage the computer-based maintenance tracking system for fleet upkeep.
  • Coordinate with HR and the Crewing Department to ensure all vessels are staffed with qualified and competent mariners.
  • Be available for on-call duties, including nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
Requirements for the Fleet Supervisor:
  • Proven experience in the operation, management, or maintenance of tugboats.
  • Thorough knowledge of the marine towing industry.
  • Preferably, an understanding of engineering principles related to marine applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating courtesy, tact, and good judgment in team interactions.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and acting on complex oral and written directives.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations with both office staff and vessel crew.
