We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Market Analyst to join their dynamic team and support the decision-making processes with high-quality market analysis and research.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth analysis of the tanker market, including demand/supply trends, freight rates, oil and commodity flows, and macroeconomic indicators.
    • Track daily changes in freight rates, oil prices, and vessel availability.
    • Develop and maintain market models, forecasting tools, and industry databases.
  • Reporting:

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly market reports for internal teams and clients.
    • Summarize global market trends and highlight key drivers impacting the shipping and oil industries.
    • Assist in creating presentations and dashboards to communicate market insights effectively.
  • Data Management:

    • Monitor and analyze real-time shipping data, vessel movements, and trade patterns.
    • Maintain databases with accurate and up-to-date market information.
    • Support automation and data visualization projects to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with chartering teams to provide timely and relevant market intelligence.
    • Communicate findings to brokers, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Support strategic projects, including client pitches, feasibility studies, and business development efforts.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Experience with data analysis tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus.
    • Knowledge of shipping platforms (e.g., Baltic Exchange, Clarkson’s SIN, VesselsValue) is desirable.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills:

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentations.
  • Soft Skills:

    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Industry Knowledge:

    • Understanding of the shipping and energy sectors, including the tanker market, is a strong advantage.
    • Interest in maritime logistics, global trade, and oil markets is essential.
