LNG Broker – Houston

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis & Intelligence:

    • Monitor global LNG market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics.
    • Analyze geopolitical events affecting LNG trade.
    • Provide insights and reports to clients on market conditions.
  2. Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with LNG producers, traders, utilities, and end-users.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients’ needs and risk preferences.
    • Facilitate introductions between potential buyers and sellers.
  3. Trade Execution & Negotiation:

    • Arrange and negotiate LNG contracts, including spot, short-term, and long-term deals.
    • Ensure contract terms align with market conditions and regulatory requirements.
    • Work with legal and compliance teams to structure agreements.
  4. LNG Logistics & Operations:

    • Coordinate cargo deliveries, shipping arrangements, and terminal access.
    • Work with ship brokers, traders, and port authorities to facilitate smooth transportation.
    • Track cargo movements and resolve logistical issues.
  5. Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Assess and mitigate trade-related risks, including price volatility and counterparty risks.
    • Ensure compliance with international regulations, such as IMO and environmental standards.
    • Stay updated on LNG trading laws, tax implications, and contract structures.
  6. Networking & Business Development:

    • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and exhibitions.
    • Identify new business opportunities and expand the firm’s trading portfolio.
    • Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the LNG value chain.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in LNG trading, brokerage, or energy markets preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Analytical and quantitative abilities for market analysis.
    • Knowledge of LNG contracts (SPA, FOB, DES, CIF).
    • Understanding of shipping and logistics in LNG trade.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global trading environment.
