Manager, Marine Inspection & Safety
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team as a Manager of Marine Inspection & Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Development and Support: Train and support staff in delivering enhanced compliance with Bye Laws through education and enforcement programs.
- Marine Safety Policy Development: Develop and implement policies related to marine safety, ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
- Health and Safety Audits: Design and execute an annual program of Marine Health and Safety Audits, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate and report on boating and other water-related accidents or incidents, liaising with the Marine Casualty Investigation Board (ROI) and the Marine Accident Investigation Board (NI) as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Honours degree (Level 8) in a relevant discipline.
- Experience:
- Previous managerial position in an organisation with marine health and safety responsibility.
- Experience managing staff and budgets.
- Experience dealing with external stakeholders, including government departments.
- Special Considerations: Candidates who have reached the rank of Lieutenant in a military naval service with four years of sailing experience will also be considered.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations in the EU/UK/Ireland.
- Ability to interpret and implement legislative frameworks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Requirements:
- License: Must hold a clean driving license.
- Location: The position allows for location near any one of our client’s offices in the West and Midlands regions.
