Position Overview

We are seeking a Marine Electrical Engineer with a strong background in shipboard and maritime electrical systems. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and be authorized to work in the United States. This role includes design, analysis, inspection, and technical consulting for a wide range of commercial and government marine projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, automation, switchboards, and control systems.

  • Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical load analyses.

  • Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports.

  • Conduct shipboard surveys, inspections, and field engineering assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and maritime regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, IEEE, USCG, and IEC standards).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, naval architects, and project managers.

  • Provide technical support for ship conversions, new constructions, and retrofits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering with electrical focus.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required).

  • Authorized to work in the United States (required).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with marine electrical systems or shipboard electrical engineering.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or similar electrical engineering tools.

  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel for site surveys and client meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.

  • Experience with both commercial and military/government vessel projects.

  • Familiarity with marine classification societies and shipyard operations.
