Marine Technical Sales Manager
Location: New Orleans, LA or Nashville, TN area
Role Summary: The Marine Technical Sales Manager is responsible for providing sales and customer service to the existing customer base, identifying new sales leads, and promoting the company’s services at industry events. The role involves collaborating with internal teams in Engineering, Supply Chain, and Estimating to develop product specifications and pricing for new barge construction and supporting customers through the construction and delivery process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Marine leadership team to achieve sales targets.
- Conduct sales visits to customer locations.
- Execute sales plans to meet sales volume targets.
- Work with the Contract Administrator to manage customer contracts throughout their lifecycle.
- Coordinate sales activities with Estimating, Plant Managers, and Engineering teams.
- Participate in industry, regional, and national organizations to support marketing efforts.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in technical sales, marketing, or sales management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Broad knowledge of the Marine Industry; specific experience with barges is a plus.
- General business knowledge and an understanding of marine industry construction and repair processes.
- Ability to analyze and compare technical data and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven experience in converting accounts and closing sales
- Knowledge of marine construction market conditions and competition.
- Ability to travel without restrictions.
