Regional Sales Manager – Shipowners, Naval Architects, and Customers in the USA
A global leader in sustainable energy solutions for the maritime industry is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive sales and build relationships with shipowners, naval architects, and other key stakeholders in the United States.
This role involves a blend of technical expertise and business development acumen to promote cutting-edge electrification and battery technology solutions, tailored to the unique needs of the maritime sector.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the maritime industry, proven sales skills, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Development – Identify, prospect, and develop business opportunities with shipowners, naval architects, shipyards, and other key maritime stakeholders in the USA
  • Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation and qualification to proposal development and deal closure.
  • Work closely with potential customers to understand their operational and technical needs, aligning them with product offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, ensuring longterm satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Technical Expertise and Solutions – Present and explain company’s technical solutions, including electrification systems, battery technologies, and energy storage solutions, to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and company’s engineering and product development teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and met.
  • Stay updated on advancements in maritime electrification technologies and regulations, providing insights to customers.
  • Market Insights and Strategy – Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitors, and new opportunities in the US maritime industry.
  • Provide feedback to the management team on customer needs, market dynamics, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Contribute to the development of company’s sales and marketing strategies for the US market.
  • Relationship Building and Networking – Represent company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the company’s network and brand presence.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry associations, regulators, and stakeholders to promote company’s reputation as a thought leader in maritime electrification.
  • Collaboration and Reporting _ Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in the company’s CRM system.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and forecasts for senior management
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine Technology, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the maritime, energy, or electrification sectors.
  • Familiarity with ship design, naval architecture, and maritime operational requirements is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and close deals with large corporate clients.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and sustainability trends in the maritime industry, including the shift toward green technologies.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
