POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules, manning reports and resource loaded production schedules for MHI. Maintains company-wide workload and resource forecast data. Assists estimating, as required, for bid proposal schedules and supporting documentation for submittal at bid. Provides supervision and leadership to direct reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains computer software programs needed for daily departmental functions.
  • Review standard Work Items and associated reference drawings to establish a logical work breakdown structure as part of schedule development and planning.
  • Creates proposal schedules and supporting documentation to submit with all fixed price bids that can be quickly converted into execution schedules after award.
  • Accomplishes item level resource loading to submit manning graphs as needed.
  • Assist the Estimating dept with the review of PERL and other solicitation documents.
  • Identifies improper work breakdown structure or missing requirements during bid package review.
  • Evaluates impact of NAVSEA Standard Item changes that affect schedule and reporting requirements and provides impact awareness to Project Managers and Estimators.
  • Creates and maintains execution schedules to include resource loading.
  • Facilitates major schedule impact/review meetings and training sessions to help Project team and Production leadmen develop an overall plan for success. Participates in project meetings.
  • Coordinates with Scheduling, Integration/Certification and Project teams to identify when milestones/key events are in jeopardy and raise concerns to the proper level of management.
  • Assist with grooming and integration of AIT POAMs during pre-planning.
  • Creates, maintains and distributes projected manning reports and maintains and distributes company-wide workload and resource forecasts.
  • Point of Contact for NAVSEA Standard Specification for Ship Repair and Alteration Committee (SSRAC).
  • Assists with Critical Path and Controlling Work analysis to create “what if” scenarios exploring alternate sequencing.
  • Generates monthly CDRL report IAW CDRL A017 for manning data and the Avail Closeout report IAW CDRL A016.
  • Accomplishes internal departmental surveillance audits of project deliverable products.
  • Supervisors to the Schedulers and Serves as Lead Scheduler during work surge periods.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Four-year degree preferred
  • Seven years of scheduling experience in the ship repair or similar industry. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively internally across the company, and externally with subcontractors, government representatives, and other customers.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, etc.) and proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software with similar capabilities (MS Project, Open Plan, 3M Sked).
  • Experience writing/modifying macros for formatting is preferred.
  • Experience in Systems Implementation, Systems Administration, or similar roles.
