Senior Application Support Specialist- Houston, TX

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Application Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users and clients for our software applications, with a focus on SQL-related issues. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of our software and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to end-users and clients via phone, email, or in-person.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot software application issues, including SQL database-related problems.
  3. Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  4. Document and maintain support processes, including SQL scripts and troubleshooting procedures.
  5. Assist in software installation, configuration, and updates.
  6. Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Train end-users on software functionality and best practices.
  8. Escalate issues to higher-level support or development teams when necessary.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to provide the best support possible.
  10. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support, if required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in software application support, with a focus on SQL-related issues.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL database systems and SQL querying.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software development and programming languages is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server certification) is a plus.
