Senior Application Support Specialist- Houston, TX
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Application Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users and clients for our software applications, with a focus on SQL-related issues. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of our software and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users and clients via phone, email, or in-person.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot software application issues, including SQL database-related problems.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Document and maintain support processes, including SQL scripts and troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist in software installation, configuration, and updates.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Train end-users on software functionality and best practices.
- Escalate issues to higher-level support or development teams when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to provide the best support possible.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support, if required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in software application support, with a focus on SQL-related issues.
- Strong knowledge of SQL database systems and SQL querying.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of software development and programming languages is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server certification) is a plus.
