Shipyard Crane and Rigging Supervisor
The Crane and Rigging Department Supervisor oversees all the department’s operations and employees which are staffed by crane and equipment operators, riggers, and helpers.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Delegate daily tasks to all department personnel in support of drydocking and shiprepair projects, prioritizing efficiency.
- Ability to multitask and manage various repair / support items simultaneously
- Review and analyze work specifications, develop plan to execute work, and memorialize all work performed in written condition reports to the satisfaction of onsite customer representative
- Interface with Project Managers and other trade supervisors to coordinate the efficient completion of tasks
- Physically supervise all ongoing work and provide direction when necessary.
- Submit daily reports for manpower, identifying work carried out and man hours including timesheets for departments staff
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum five years of experience in Marine rigging at ship repair facility.
- Previous experience with weight testing for shipboard cranes and equipment.
- Previous experience operating crane and fork truck preferred.
