Shipyard General Manager, NYC area
Responsibilities:
- Manage topside repair projects to include tracking budgets, scheduling, performance and purchasing.
- Manage / supervise Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman and other shipyard and contract labor.
- Keep in touch with customers regarding estimating, scheduling and change orders.
- Implement shipyard safety and environmental programs
- Ability to operate independently (owners are not on location)
Qualifications:
- 5 years as a General Manager in a shipyard repair setting or 10 years as a Project Manager for a US Shipyard
- College degree preferred but not required
- Knowledge of / experience with barge repair
- Able to read / interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
- Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish) but not necessary
