Sr. Boiler Service Technician
Hiring for a Sr. Boiler Service Technician for a commercial and industrial boiler/HVAC company in the NYC area (NYC/ Bronx area and in Westchester county). Working alongside an experience / factory trained service technician who will instruct on all areas of repair and maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Performs routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems
Ø Maintains low pressure boilers, high boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
Ø Replaces defective valves, filters, or steam gauges.
Ø Monitors boiler systems to ensure it is operating safely and properly; facilitates periodic cleaning.
Ø Addresses any problems with boiler systems and notifies maintenance when needed.
Ø Maintain neat and professional demeanor to guarantee an excellent customer service experience
Ø Contacts supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
Ø OSHA 30, F-60 & G-60 is required
Ø Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø 5+ years’ experience in Boiler Maintenance, Combustion, basic boiler circuits, PLC, instrumentation calibration, ability to read wiring schematic,
Ø Stand-by required.
Ø Technical/vocational school training and experience working with HVAC or industrial boilers.
Ø Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operations and maintenance.
Ø Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ø Excellent mechanical skills
Ø Ability to follow OSHA rules as to safety procedures and processes.
Ø Must have own hand tools
Ø Company will provide “specialty tools” as permitted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ø Physically able to inspect and repair boilers
Ø Able to work in confined spaces
Ø Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time
Ø Ability to perform some welding is a plus
Ø Must pass a drug screening and background check prior to employment (at the company’s expense)
