Safety Manager, Dredge Operations: Florida

Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs across active projects, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and client-specific safety requirements. This role works closely with field teams, management, and external inspectors to promote a strong safety culture and mitigate operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, MSHA, and client-specific safety standards and regulations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with OSHA, MSHA, and client safety inspectors

  • Schedule and coordinate safety training for employees

  • Maintain accurate records of safety certifications and training documentation

  • Ensure employees are provided with and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Maintain and update safety records within ISNetworld

  • Collect, review, and submit required daily safety reports

  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections to identify potential hazards or violations

  • Direct and verify corrective actions for identified safety concerns

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Prior experience serving as a Safety Officer on sites governed by OSHA and preferably MSHA regulations

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable safety regulations and compliance standards

  • Experience with ISNetworld

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project

  • Marine construction experience

  • Ability to pass background and drug screening

Preferred Experience

  • Current MSHA training

  • Dredging experience

  • Strong computer and technical proficiency

  • Ability to operate a workboat
