Technical Superintendent– RoPax
Our client is seeking a Technical Superintendent to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of assigned ferry vessels. This role serves as a key link between ship and shore, overseeing technical performance, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technical operation of assigned ferry vessels in line with safety, efficiency, and contractual requirements
- Monitor machinery and equipment performance and drive corrective actions where needed
- Plan and oversee maintenance, repairs, dry-dockings, and major technical projects
- Manage technical budgets (OPEX/CAPEX), forecast spare parts and technical needs, and track deviations
- Ensure compliance with certification and regulatory requirements
- Conduct vessel visits, inspections, and internal audits, with clear follow-up on findings
- Coordinate technical issue resolution and maintain effective stakeholder communication
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent; or Chief Engineer qualification
- At least 3 years of sailing experience as a Senior Officer, preferably on ferry or cruise vessels, or 3 years of shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent
- Mandatory RoPax ferry experience
