Harbour Master

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Harbour Master to lead the safe, efficient and compliant management of all marine operations within one of the UK’s leading ports. Reporting to the Port Director, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of navigational safety, regulatory compliance, operational performance and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will oversee marine safety management, vessel traffic services, pilotage, cargo operations and emergency planning, while leading a team of marine professionals and working closely with customers, regulators and service providers. They will also provide expert advice to senior leadership on all matters relating to harbour operations, marine legislation and port safety.

We are looking for an accomplished marine professional with significant experience in a senior port operations role, ideally as a Harbour Master or Deputy Harbour Master. You will possess a recognised maritime qualification, an excellent understanding of the Port Marine Safety Code and Marine Safety Management Systems, together with strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
