Crane Technician-Harbour Cranes

About the Role

Our client is seeking two highly skilled and experienced Mobile Harbour Crane Technicians to support critical port operations. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining a modern fleet of mobile harbour cranes and ensuring maximum equipment availability within a demanding active port terminal environment.

This is an urgent requirement for technicians with deep hands-on experience maintaining mobile harbour cranes, strong diagnostic capability, and a proven commitment to preventative and predictive maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile harbour cranes.
• Support the safe and reliable operation of crane equipment in a high-demand port terminal environment.
• Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs in line with operational requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system faults.
• Work to maximize equipment uptime and availability.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and support efficient terminal performance.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of seven years’ direct experience in the maintenance of mobile harbour cranes.
• Proven experience working in an active port terminal or similarly demanding heavy equipment environment.
• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Demonstrated ability to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Equipment Experience

Candidates must be proficient in servicing mobile harbour cranes, with experience relevant to Leibherr, GottWald and Konecranes mobile harbour cranes.
