Assistant Voyage Manager- Tankers
Location: Houston, TX
Flagship Management is recruiting an Assistant Voyage Manager for a tanker owner in Houston. This role supports the commercial operation of assigned vessels, from pre-fixture planning through voyage execution and post-voyage reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with chartering, vessel managers, brokers, agents and internal teams to keep voyages running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Support chartering with vessel specifications, cargo capabilities, performance history, schedules, port information and estimated voyage costs.
- Coordinate with charterers, brokers, port agents and internal teams throughout each voyage.
- Monitor voyage performance, cargo intake, bunker requirements and vessel schedules.
- Arrange port agency and bunker services; review port disbursement accounts.
- Track receivables, off-hire events, vetting status and operational claims.
- Maintain accurate voyage records and prepare reports and documentation for accounting, claims and demurrage teams.
- Assist the wider operations team with systems and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- At least two years of commercial vessel operations experience, or relevant seagoing experience involving vessel management or operations.
- A degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Willingness to respond outside standard business hours when operational needs require it.
- Experience with voyage management systems, including IMOS, is helpful.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the US, no visa or sponsorship at this time
