LNG Port Engineer

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

Flagship Management is seeking an LNG Port Engineer for a client in Jacksonville. This role oversees vessel maintenance, repairs, and engineering projects, with responsibility for supporting vessel engineers and keeping the fleet operating safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee short and long-term vessel maintenance, repairs, and modifications.

• Supervise vessel engineers and ensure they meet applicable training, qualification, and certification requirements.

• Develop maintenance and repair plans and support budget management.

• Prepare dry-docking specifications and vendor bid packages; evaluate shipyard proposals.

• Oversee contractors and shipyards during maintenance and repair projects.

• Conduct vessel and equipment surveys, identify repair needs, and recommend solutions.

• Maintain machinery histories and communicate regularly with vessel engineers on maintenance schedules.

• Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience as a vessel engineer, with hands-on mechanical experience.

• Experience with Detroit Diesel 71 Series, EMD, Fairbanks Morse, John Deere generator sets, and Caterpillar engines.

• Electrical systems experience.

• Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, maritime academy background, and USCG license are preferred. LNG experience and Caterpillar Tier 4 engine experience are also desirable.
