Naval Architect
Location: Jacksonville area, Florida
Flagship Management is seeking an experienced Naval Architect for a marine engineering and naval architecture firm in the Jacksonville area. This role combines engineering design with practical shipyard support, with an emphasis on newbuild projects.
The ideal candidate will bring 8–10 years of relevant experience, strong proficiency with engineering software, and the ability to work effectively with engineers, shipyard personnel, owners, and other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and review naval architecture calculations, vessel designs, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.

Support newbuild projects from design development through construction and delivery.

Work closely with shipyard teams to resolve technical questions and support practical implementation of designs.

Perform engineering analyses related to vessel stability, structures, weight, and other naval architecture requirements.

Use engineering analysis, CAD, and 3D modeling software to develop and evaluate design solutions.

Review designs for compliance with applicable regulatory and classification requirements.

Participate in vessel inspections, site visits, and technical meetings.

Coordinate project deliverables, schedules, and design changes with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.

8–10 years of relevant naval architecture experience.

Previous experience working in a shipyard environment.

Experience supporting vessel newbuild projects.

Proficiency with engineering analysis and design software, including CAD and modeling tools.

Understanding of vessel construction methods and applicable marine regulations and classification requirements.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineering and construction teams.
Work Authorization
Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
