Our client is helping make shipping safer and smarter through AI-powered technology. Their platform gives shipowners and operators better visibility into what’s happening on board, so they can spot risks earlier, improve day-to-day operations, and make better decisions across their fleets.
They’re looking for a Director of Business Development to grow the business across the UK and Europe. This person will focus on bringing in new customers, building strong relationships, and helping expand the company’s presence in the region. It’s a great fit for someone who knows the maritime space well, has a strong background in software sales, and enjoys a consultative approach to selling.
What you’ll do
- Find and win new business opportunities across the UK and Europe
- Build and run a regional sales plan that supports wider company goals
- Develop strong relationships with key people in the maritime industry
- Lead demos and conversations that show how the solution can help with safety, compliance, and operations
- Keep a healthy sales pipeline, manage CRM updates, and deliver accurate forecasts
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to share market feedback and support growth
- Stay up to date on market trends, regulations, and competitor activity
What they’re looking for
- 6+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in the maritime industry
- Strong track record of hitting targets and growing client accounts
- Experience selling complex software solutions in a consultative way
- Good understanding of the UK maritime market, including safety and compliance challenges
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable using CRM tools
