Job Summary
The Part-Time Azipod Navigation Instructor is responsible for delivering training on Azipod propulsion systems, focusing on safe vessel handling, maneuvering techniques, and operational best practices. The instructor provides both classroom and simulator-based instruction to maritime professionals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver theoretical and practical instruction on Azipod navigation and vessel maneuvering

Conduct simulator-based training sessions using advanced maritime simulation systems

Teach topics such as:

Azipod system design and functionality

Ship handling in confined waters

Dynamic positioning and emergency procedures

Docking, undocking, and low-speed maneuvering

Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback

Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and course content

Ensure training aligns with international maritime standards (e.g., International Maritime Organization guidelines)

Maintain training records and prepare evaluation reports

Stay current with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices

Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to operational procedures
Qualifications

Valid Master Mariner license or equivalent maritime certification

Extensive experience operating Azipod-equipped vessels

Previous instructional or training experience (preferred)

Strong knowledge of ship handling, bridge resource management, and navigation principles

Familiarity with maritime regulations and standards

Proficiency in using maritime simulators and training software
