An international maritime organization is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Investigations Manager to lead marine casualty and incident investigations and support regulatory compliance across a global fleet.
The position manages investigations involving marine casualties, incidents, seafarer actions, and potential violations of maritime laws, regulations, and international conventions. The successful candidate will work closely with shipowners, vessel managers, investigators, regulatory authorities, and other maritime stakeholders while supervising and developing investigation personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage marine casualty and incident investigations.
- Review regulatory aspects of investigations and prepare findings, recommendations, reports, and fleet advisories.
- Conduct onboard casualty investigations when required.
- Coordinate investigators, vessel representatives, Port State Control authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Analyze casualty and incident trends and contribute to regulatory reporting.
- Provide guidance regarding maritime laws, regulations, conventions, and treaties.
- Develop and maintain investigation procedures, records, and quality-management documentation.
- Train, supervise, and develop marine investigation personnel.
Ideal Background
