Vice President, Market Analysis and Decision Support
A leading international maritime consulting firm with offices in Boston, Massachusetts, and London seeks an experienced analyst with a strong background in economics and experience successfully managing a client-facing analysis team.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who can take on significant research and consulting responsibilities related to the international shipping markets. These responsibilities will include carefully monitoring global economic developments and developing econometric, decision support, valuation and credit rating models and managing our regular market reports and updates.
This is an opportunity to lead a team charged with helping our clients make successful investment, chartering, and lending decisions in the context of a rapidly changing shipping market. The successful candidate will have a track record of identifying key issues and their implications and working with senior management to translate that analysis to decision making.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead a team of analysts, including setting performance goals and promoting their professional growth
· Monitor global economic developments, with an emphasis on international trade and energy market developments and identifying critical matters that will drive the shipping markets.
· Support company’s existing suite of decision support models and developing the next generation of those models
· Join an experienced leadership team with an opportunity to update and expand our services to the shipping markets.
· New business development and support for clients (in partnership with our sales and support team)
· Contributing to the company’s market reports and ad-hoc consulting projects
Requirements
· Master’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in market analysis
· Experience managing an analysis team
· Proficiency in statistics/econometrics
· Excellent analytical and communication skills
· Fluent in English
· Position will be based in either Boston or London, with potential for hybrid work
