This position is responsible for conducting forensic investigations into marine casualties and related incidents worldwide.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities for the Master Mariner – Shoreside:
- Conduct investigations and evaluations specific to Master Mariner issues
- Perform onsite surveys relating to Master Mariner areas of expertise
- Prepare detailed reports and correspondence based on investigation findings and site visits
- Provide expert testimony in court or arbitration settings, drawing on written analyses
- Offer guidance and support to clients on mariner-related concerns
- Adhere to established company procedures and protocols
- Participate in marketing efforts and contribute to business development activities within the discipline
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, in line with role capabilities
Candidate Profile:
- Certified Master Mariner, preferably with Command experience
- Background as a Master on tankers or offshore drilling vessels/rigs is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and motivated approach
- Positive, approachable, and enthusiastic demeanor
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
