This position is responsible for conducting forensic investigations into marine casualties and related incidents worldwide.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities for the Master Mariner – Shoreside:

  • Conduct investigations and evaluations specific to Master Mariner issues
  • Perform onsite surveys relating to Master Mariner areas of expertise
  • Prepare detailed reports and correspondence based on investigation findings and site visits
  • Provide expert testimony in court or arbitration settings, drawing on written analyses
  • Offer guidance and support to clients on mariner-related concerns
  • Adhere to established company procedures and protocols
  • Participate in marketing efforts and contribute to business development activities within the discipline
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, in line with role capabilities

Candidate Profile:

  • Certified Master Mariner, preferably with Command experience
  • Background as a Master on tankers or offshore drilling vessels/rigs is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and motivated approach
  • Positive, approachable, and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency in IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
