Senior Shipping Market Analyst-Energy Markets
Our client a leading international maritime consulting firm with offices in Boston, MA and London seeks an experienced analyst with a strong background in either shipping or energy markets.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who can take on significant research and consulting responsibilities in the oil tanker and/or LNG shipping markets. These responsibilities will include carefully monitoring developments, writing market reports, and making presentations to clients.
This is an opportunity for someone who can identify key issues and make informed judgments about potential future developments, while challenging assumptions where appropriate. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be able to meet deadlines. A background in economics and/or statistics would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities
· Tracking market trade and fleet developments and forecasting future developments in the oil tanker and/or LNG shipping markets.
· Preparing quarterly and interim market reports covering these markets
· Making market and business presentations to clients
· Maintaining and updating economic and financial models
· Sales support and business development
· Contributing to ad-hoc consulting projects
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of work experience as a market analyst; or Master’s degree in lieu of experience
· Excellent analytical skills
· Ability to write well and meet deadlines.
· Excellent communication/presentation skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
· Strong attention to detail
· Fluency in English
· Position will be based in either Boston or London, with potential for hybrid work setup.
